What strain of catnip are we talking about here? I think my "cat" might enjoy it also.

Wow, how absolutely stunning this is! What a unique and interesting character. I love the colors, and the overall feel of this piece. Although it is surreal, there is something comical about it to me. I like this very much!

One of my favourites from your gallery  I've never seen anything like it. Ethereal colours, weird shapes, a treecreature conversing with a mouse... Love it!

this is great! the colors are my favorite part. i love the texture on the ground as well ^^ to me, i see a creature growing from the earth, but combined with the shape and cut out of the branch, i see a whole cat face. LOVE IT!!!!

Oils are very forgiving and take quite a while to completely dry. I have reworked paintings months or years later, which is always a possibility unless it's been varnished. I don't mind mind the way the top half of the painting turned out even if it's a bit unbalanced. I would have changed it if it bothered me. Besides, I sold Sabrina about a year ago.

This grabbed my attention. The character is very cute ... and the mouse. Lots of detail and contrast. It just looks like you didn't pay as much attention to the top of the tree (& painting) as the bottom? It looks as though you rushed there?

That's a fair assessment, although it was more a lack of planning and sketching than rushing. For a time I was focusing on being spontaneous and seeing where the paint took me. I got a lot of 'happy accidents' out of that phase, but sometimes there was a resulting lack of balance in the composition.

I love working with 'happy accidents' in watercolor. I wasn't aware you could have any with oil. I don't know very much about working in oil technically, although I was under the impression that you can always go back and rework one? Is that incorrect?

If it's possible, I'd love to see this with that area re-worked. The characters are engaging and adorable. :+favlove:
